Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mops have become more adept, passing our tests of cleaning and tackling various floor types. Look for models that let you choose from multiple modes, use their charging dock to self-empty and clean the stairs.
Many of the top models work with your smartphone. Check for an app that allows you to save maps, create schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
- Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gloss black and gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It makes use of lidar to navigate making maps of floors and rooms.
When I tried the S1, it was quick to map the downstairs area, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, along with carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was able to drive right up to walls without colliding with them and even managed to traverse raised room thresholds with no problem, but it sometimes had trouble navigating down the stairs in one pass. The S1 performed well in cleaning hard floors. Its mop moved smoothly on its flat side and raised itself when it reached carpets or rugs.
The docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock also provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1's tank of water holds enough water for around twelve cleaning sessions before needing to be emptied, though it will differ based on how often you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to keep it from becoming clogged. It is also necessary to clean the swivel wheels and sensors frequently to avoid them from becoming clogged with dust or dirt. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
- Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop provides an efficient solution for your cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum is rated at 8,700Pa of suction and offers a number of innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that avoids obstacles and cleans around furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mop heads actually lift the floor and scrub it instead of simply drag a pad across a surface. Mops can also be cleaned and dried at the base station, if needed.
The robot comes with a simple interface that guides you throughout the process. It comes with an electric hand vacuum that can be recharged to reach those areas the robot isn't able to reach, as well as two water tanks that are automatically emptied and refilled when needed. It also has a number of useful settings for fine-tuning your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good job at vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily picks up most of the debris, and even tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also quite good, though it can get stuck on small area mats and rugs in my home (which you can alleviate by defining virtual boundaries in the app). The mopping feature is pretty impressive, and comes with two spinning mop pads that actually lift and scrub floors instead of simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when needed. Mops can also be replenished at the top of the station if they are required.
- Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop were released earlier in the year. But their latest flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-free maintenance making it a top contender on our top mop and robot vacuum list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee a thorough, customised clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, removing large and small particles from hard floors as well as carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests with ease, avoiding pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping performance of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush that automatically moves out to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and mop pads that run along baseboards.
Its navigation system is nimble it can navigate through narrow spaces and negotiating stairways without missing a step. It can move from one room to another without having to reverse direction, which is a handy feature for homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than the ones of other competitors and leaves a wide margin between obstacles. This could lead to miss-hit spots.
The app features a simple and intuitive interface that will be easy for both novice and experienced users. The app allows you to schedule and manage cleanings, alter mopping and suction power settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. You can control it through the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can even tap into the X40 Ultra's camera remotely, for live video surveillance. You will need a stable WiFi connection to use the app and external controls.
- Roomba Q5 Pro
A robot vacuum can do a fantastic job of picking up debris and dirt but it's not always able to get every last particle of dust. This is why it's important to use your regular vacuum at least once a week, especially to pick up dust in corners, on shelves and in the corners of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot that was designed to accomplish exactly that. It is easy to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the company's pricier S-series models, including the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It uses a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but saves on price by eliminating mopping and using a lower-cost plastic body.
Despite losing the ability to clean your floors, the Q5 still has some of the most impressive mopping and vacuum performance we've seen on a robot at this price. It has a strong suction of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system, so you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It also has a clever application that lets you choose your floor's type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic water tank refill and wash system for hands-free operation.
Its mops also impress with their 2700Pa capacity to combat pet hair and dirt on carpets as well as hard floors. The Q5 was one of the few robots that we tested that did not have problems with high-pile rugs and carpets. However, it could not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't too surprising as it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
- K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robot vacuum we've ever tested. It also uses a unique mapping system that allows it to reach corners and tight places that other vacuums cannot. It also collects dust in a bigger dustbin which means you need to empty it less often. Additionally, it has washable filters which further reduces the cost of using the device. The robot can also recognize carpets and increase suction if required. The app also allows you to mark off areas you want to avoid and is a great feature.
